My BT not fit for purpose.

Earlier his year BT started asking me to confirm my account by sending a code to an email address which I was using when I first signed up to BT in 2012.  It was a toucansurf email address, remember them. I have not been able to access it for years. I had previously tried several times to change that email to my main one but while I could delete the old address and add the new one, the SAVE box was always greyed out and it was never saved. Contacting BT they tried  to change it also it but  found the same problem.

BT sent me an email redently to my main address which I can acess, advising my contract was up for renewal and a link. Even from the link I still get the response that I am not the account holder.

I have spoken with or messaged  5 different  BT staff to try and resolve this. All have been very polite and tried there best but could not get me access to MY BT, but did try to get me to take a new contract.  Some of the replies were obvious A1 responses. At one stage I was sent a reply that should have gone to another customer they were also dealing with.

We've lost BT Cloud I can't download the the new cyber threat protection as I can't get on My BT. 10% price increase every year. It is not good enough.

@SpitfireMk5  Unfortunately your post doesn’t go to BT, this is merely a customer to customer help forum with occasional assistance from BT employee moderators who don’t have access to customer accounts.

Re: My BT not fit for purpose.

If you can log onto your MyBT go to Your Details then Personal Details and in the section "Contact Details"  which is used for the 2FA PIN, read the warning then change the email address and mobile number to the ones you want 2FA sent to and then click save.

If you can not get into your MyBT call BT 0330.1234.150 and get them to change it as above.

Nope, cannot log on to My BT. Will try the number if different from the usual one.
Thanks.

Re: My BT not fit for purpose.

Yep, was aware, just wanted to shout at the computer rather than the staff.

Thanks.

Even if it is the same number give them a call.

It may be that the Customer Service reps you have already spoken to were/are unaware that the details you need to have changed are the ones I have mentioned above and not the ones that they may hold else where.
