MyBT app shows as no longer compatible with my tablet

I am using a Samsung Galaxy Tab A, SM-T510, and when I try to go in to the My BT app, it shows a message that a newer version of the app is available which then takes me to the Google Play store. There I see a message stating that the app is no longer compatible with my tablet, so I can no longer use the app at all.

The Android version on my tablet is 11.

Is this a long term situation or will the app become available for my device again?

Android 11 was introduced in 2020 and security updates for it were stopped in 2023.  Android is now on version 16. 

It seems very unlikely that if BT say that it is not compatible and they no longer support it that they will change their mind in the future. You should however stil be able to access your MyBT using a web browser.

Can you not just log into MyBt via the browser on your tablet, Oh, maybe not until Monday. Just had a 20min phone call as the 'new' BT security update is not (in my case) sending it's verification code to my mobile... and will be "Fixed by Monday" 😉

A lot of Apps become obsolete on certain devices over time unless they have the latest version of Android. My Sister lost her HSBC App use on her old, slow Samsung tablet and so she upgraded (horrible word) to a new tablet. I told her she could log in via their website but that sort of thing is beyond her technical level.

I too have suffered a similar fate with the YouTube App on an old Galaxy Tab running Android 8 so I just have a screen link to the website for YT.
