New customer looking for reliable package

Hi!
I am potentially a new customer to BT after appalling service from sky this last week (no internet for 7 days!) I currently work from home and need reliable internet and I spoke to a friend that has BT and they suggested the halo package which will give me a 4g connection if the WiFi goes down  but I can’t find this online and I would be really interested in this option

Re: New customer looking for reliable package

@Laurahowson1995  Obviously, ultimately, whichever package you choose is down to you, but if you take the time to trawl through the forum, you'll find enough complaints about just how expensive the Halo package is/becomes and then good luck trying to get yourself out of it.

Are you serviced by Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) in your area? If so, once connected and if you've got a decent enough router with good coverage throughout your premises, you probably wouldn't even need Halo anyway.

As always, do your own research before committing to anything.

Re: New customer looking for reliable package

For most people Halo proves to be a very expensive add-on ornament.

That having been said, if you have good 4G signal and your broadband goes down every five minutes, perhaps it would be the answer.  Two points though.  1) If you have a good 4G signal just get a mobile with a good data allowance and use that as a wireless hotspot when the broadband goes down.  2) If you get full fibre, (FTTP), it is far more stable and reliable than part fibre, (FTTC/VDSL), so you would likely not need Halo.

Re: New customer looking for reliable package

Thanks for the response unfortunately our we have pretty poor signal on our phones network and it’s costing me a lot of money right now hot spotting given it’s been 7 days 😩 however your suggestion for full fibre sounds great I will go with this! Thank you very much

Re: New customer looking for reliable package

Oh, one other caution about Halo.  Once you get Halo it's damn neigh impossible to get them to take it off again, as it is quite a money spinner for BT.
