Re: Websites blocked with following You don't have permission to access "http://www.argos.co.uk

I've got the same issue with VERY, tui and a few other sites. I've logged it and an engineer is looking into it.... very strange though.

Unfortunately the new router HASN'T  fixed the issue, we had access for 2 days, now getting blocked... AGAIN! Awaiting a BT engineer to assist, but there are other experiencing the same issue so clearly 'something' BT are doing.

VERY FRUSTRATING!

Try unplugging all the Ethernet connections to the home hub. Then restart the home hub and see if you can access the website using wireless only. If you can, then its something on your own home network causing the problem.

What do you have which is plugged into the Ethernet port(s)? Is it possible that they have their own DHCP server which is enabled by mistake, and it delivering the wrong routing?

Re: Websites blocked with following You don't have permission to access "http://www.argos.co.uk

Hi,

I tried that last time with the old router and tried it with the new one - no luck. It's definitely a BT issue and showing up elsewhere for other users.

For reference I have a 3 disc 'Whole Home' mesh, and normally have wifi turned off on the router. With these issues though I have tried direct WiFi and wired connection to the router with discs turned off.

Sounds like you are either picking up bad routing (unlikely every time), or there is something wrong with the access controls applied to your account at network level.

I see you have hijacked this thread started by @Gill7

I have moved your posts to this new thread.

Hi Kieth,

How can we test/check the routing and access controls?

@Andrewbno1

Try manually setting Google DNS on one of your devices. A Google search will show you how.

Hello,

Have you had a fix yet? Our "fix" only lasted a few days.  We now have a tech expert coming to see us at home.

A quick Google showed that this is not just us.

I wonder if it is a public IP issue?  But the IP doesn't make a black list but gets refused by EdgeSuite (Akamai) the Content Delivery Network (CDN) domain?

I have a vpn as part of my Google account and when that's enabled I can access everything,  so I agree, it has to be a BT IP issue. I've got a case open, but nothing so far. We may have to change service providers if BT can't sort it, it seems to be getting worse each day.
