We have had BT TV for years but recently we got a second TV in the kitchen and wanted to also be able to watch BT TV but obviusly this wasnt possible
I went on the help chat and they have sent me a Hybrid Connect Box and a Wi-Fi Disc - is this correct? I have seen other posts about a similar subject that dont metion these.
Mmu other question is, when I add the new equipment to the hub wil I lose everythign that is saved?
Sounds like you have had your broadband moved to Halo3+ (I suspect you have been recontracted), the kit supplied might enhance your WiFi throughout the house and provide 4G back up, but it won’t give you BT TV on a second TV.
Did you receive any additional kit? Do you have the BT TV Box Pro or an older version?
The current second box from BT is the BT TV Mini and costs £10 per month.
This is my conern, all I have received is the Hybrid connect Box and the Wifi disc
Is the new TV not "smart"? If it is you can simply use its own apps to watch. If not then a cheap Amazon Firestick or Roku device would provide them.
The official BT solution is a mini box, but that offers little over a Firestick/Roku & costs £10 pm month for the privilege.
No idea why you've been sent what you have. Probably best to check your account on MyBT & make sure you haven't been sold these as an unnecessary "upgrade".
If the spare TV is smart tv, you may be able to run the Now TV app depending on the operating system on it. Android/Roku/Fire TVs will be able to run the Now TV app straight out of the box and you would need to add the BT Sport app.
Failing that a Fire TV stick/Roku device can be used in a HDMI port to give you the Now TV/BT Sport/Netflix apps without using a BT mini TV box.
