Aerial connection

Spoiler
I have set up my pro box via wi-fi but I'd like to connect my aerial. I have the cable that was used with my sky Q box  (with 2 connectors that screw and a thin piece of wire in the middle) a standard aerial cable but neither of them fit. I've tried chatting to an agent online but they want me to pay for an engineer visit.

Can I use any of the cables, do I need an adapted etc?

TIA

Re: Aerial connection

this not satellite its an Ariel input  is for things such as Freeview you cant connect a dish it to   just switch to internet only mode here

do not pay for a visit if you only have a sky dish @sinclair_katie they wont be able to do anything as you dont have an Ariel if you only have a sky dish

Re: Aerial connection

Hi, thank you for your help. I do have an aerial wall socket but the other aerial cable I have (not the sky one) doesn’t quite fit properly. Should I just try another aerial cable to connect the box to the wall socket? Thank you

Re: Aerial connection

Do you currently have a traditional aerial?  Or do you only have a dish?

It is a cable from the aerial to the BT Box, (optionally via a wall socket), that is needed.

No matter how much you try different cables, it won't help unless you have an aerial at the other end.

Re: Aerial connection

@sinclair_katie ,

The most common type of TV aerial wall socket looks like this:

Wall socket.jpeg

If your wall socket is one of these, the correct cable to use is a male to male coaxial TV aerial lead. I'm not sure if the forum rules allow me to post a link to a specific product, but an internet search should come up with something that looks like this:

The pictures should appear after they have been cleared.
