Not sure there is a timescale, it's all to do with the COM7 multiplex being shut and flogged off for 5G.

I read the BBC did some tests in London in June but not seen anything since.

No date has been set yet, looks like you'll just have to watch it on iplayer for now.

If you are able to switch your box to the new IP service from BT then all your BBC and ITV channels are HD.

As of today, its back in channel 106 on freeview/BT TV along with CBeebies hd on 205.

All my BBC channels are HD (Now BBC 4 HD is back up and running) but not the likes of ITV 2 and ITV 3, am I missing something?

Unless you have a BT TV Pro box in Ip Mode you are reliant upon what your Freeview transmitter outputs.  So ITV2/3/4 are in SD if you receive it via the aerial feed.

it will be interesting to see if ITV X gives further options.

Note that BBC News continues to be not available as an HD channel on Freeview. Thankfully BBC4 is as it benefits more from being in HD with the arts and drama programmes rather than the talking heads etc of news.
