I ordered BT Fibre with Now TV last year I paid an extra £5 month for multi room and they supplied me with TWO recordable boxes one was HD and one was a standard recorder box I put one in the kitchen and one in the lounge.
I allready had one in the bedroom I had bought earlier of EBay ALL three record any program I select as long as I only record the NOW TV on 2 of the 3 boxes I can watch Freeview on all 3 boxes at the same time but only watch/record on 2 out of 3 at the same time for NOW TV Channels. I get a message on the last one I switch on to switch one of the boxes off It all works well as there is only two of us in the house so should not need to have 3 recording any way
Sorry this is your personal experience, for some we record so much, sport, tv series, shows, various channels, so being able to watch your recordings is important without search for all the apps not to mention not all of them are available to catch up, also if you in living room and want to record a problem to watch in bedroom you cant or need possibly 2xpro boxes then have to change room to record that specific problem all in which in this modern technology we in should not need to do. Something sky do all very well. No offence sky just is better in many ways. BT tv service was so far behind sky…. Coming from a bt engineer
