It sounds like the EE remote is not paired with the Box Pro. Older YouView remotes don’t need to pair, which has its downsides; but as here, also has its upsides.
With the Box Pro switched on and connected to your TV, also switched on, via an HDMI cable, carry out the remote reset and re-pair as here:-
