Another weekend and another failed recording, despite checking it in the morning. What was originally billed as 'Premier League: Rd27: Nottingham Forest v Liverpool' had dropped the 'Rd 27' bit by the time the programme started (but the recording didn't as a result)!
It's almost as if they were doing it on purpose now, but that would suggest some degree of competency to be able to do that! 😀
Similar for me last week. Europa League game checked in the schedule in the morning and all ok. Arrived home towards the end of the game to discover it wasn't recording because according to the screen display the five minute filler programme prior to the game was still running after two hours.
These problems happen so often it is more of a surprise when a scheduled recording actually happens.
The words f***ing incompetent wastes of oxygen springs to mind.
F1 Qualifying and F2 Race failed to record overnight either, the former is being reran now (though I've missed the start), the latter isn't on again at all (and is never on Now's catchup service) so I've missed it totally. Another utter failure by a completely inept company. Also the Grand Prix itself and the Chequered Flag summary program have dropped out of being set for recording, as has the Formula 3 tonight which is refusing to reactivate as a Recording, as has the Indycar tonight. 1/10. Think it's time I look to get out of my contract, I'm spending a fortune on this and missing so much. The fact that one of your team marked this issue as 'solved' is an utter insult.
Same thing for me, I was hoping that this season things would have been sorted but sadly this doesn't seem to be the case. I have set the F1 qualifying to record later today (hope that works), sadly the F2 sprint race ended with 4 laps to go so didn't get to see the finish and isn't being re run anywhere in the schedule.
I have been through all the programs set to record and had to reset several as they had dropped off.
Another thing I noticed is the descriptions of both F2 and F3 race programs were pretty basic with no detail as to what the race was.
Think it may be time to trial Sky Stream especially as 4K HD is still not available with EE TV.
At a complete loss why anyone with a smart tv would contemplate Sky stream.
All sky HBO max content is available through now tv
It's literally a fraction of the price and with it being an app you can watch it anywhere..all in glorious UHD
We've already told you that not all the affected programs are available on the apps. With examples. Which you've repeatedly ignored.
And you think Sky stream is the answer?
Sadly appointment tv/ recording is becoming simply irrelevant
Going direct with Now TV may well be the cheaper option and if it works for you then good.
The problem is not watching live but the availability of races on catchup, there is either a long delay after the race itself or the total absence of some altogether.
As I said if I decide to go ahead it will be a trial of sky stream to see if it fills my requirements, if not I will stay with EE TV.
Of course all of this stems from the poor service between EE TV and Now regarding poor programming and the absence of updating the EPG on the fly if programmes over run.
"Sadly appointment tv/ recording is becoming simply irrelevant "
But the EE/BT charlatans still take your money for a service they cannot provide.
Used the Live Chat Saturday, raised a complaint, they insisted on rebooting the box and on sending a broadband engineer. He came yesterday, checked everything, agreed that it's fine, the only issue is with the EPG. I contacted Chat again to explain that the issue is still there, either the Chat guy or the engineer marked the fault as Fixed. Complaint closed at 12.01 overnight, which apparently is correct for a seven-days-open complaint as it's the start of the seventh day. I can't fault their ability to rest on that seventh day, in fairness.....
And, what do you know, same fault still there. The F1 sprint and the Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime Premier League games have just dropped out of the schedule as well. Let's hope it doesn't let me down overnight tonight for the Sprint race and qualifying.
An hour on the line to another Chat guy and he's reset my Wifi (which I wasn't using until the previous guy told me to disconnect the cable as a troubleshooting step), asked me to check it by recording a live program (which will not reveal the fault), and reopened the complaint (which is still not showing on my account, but he says it will). Been on the line about 1 1/4 hours and got nowhere. Done another restart on his instruction and its removed other recordings from the planner. Ombudsman time?
