Re: Bt tv schedule

@garybs29

Yeah, but to spin the coin, this thread was started in August last year and to those it affects (not me I add!), it can very much look like BT are more than stretching this out and dragging their feet over it. ‘Complex’ or otherwise, folks are paying for a service, you can’t blame them for rightfully having a whinge.

So yes, whilst the Moderator has passed the information to the relevant team, whether they actually do anything about it, is another matter.

Re: Bt tv schedule

Yes. I've had the same issue programming the Bournemouth v Liverpool match. I noticed this morning that the EPG listing had changed to "Live SNF Bournemouth v Liverpool", which meant I had to re-programme it.

@Leanne_T Like others have said, just reporting it to the relevant team again and again just isn't good enough if the problems persist, really hacking off your paying customers (like myself).

Re: Bt tv schedule

There are two separate issues here. One is that the recording software gets confused when the name of the programme is changed.  This causes scheduled recordings to drop out of the planner, requiring us to constantly readd what we want to record. It can happen with sports especially (live Sunday NFL matches are usually chosen at the last minute during the regular season, and the playoff matchups and timings aren't settled until less than a week before the matches, for instance) and sport is perhaps the biggest area where recording boxes are still needed. This is an ongoing problem as long as I can remember, and I'm not aware of any attempts to resolve it.

The other is that since August, the EPG data has been especially bad, littered with incorrect names of competition and teams and lots of 'No Schedule' blocks until well under a week before the broadcasts. There's also a habit of late changes to program titles - 'Monday Night Football' and 'MNF' being used interchangeably, for instance. This causes even more of the above problem. BT have been attempting to resolve this, but with only patchy success so far. The same mistakes keep being repeated. It feels like service users deserve some level of compensation for the appallingly unreliable service, which falls far short of what we're paying for.

Re: Bt tv schedule

It is not so much that the programme name changes but that they seem to allocate a new PID when they do so which confuses the accurate recording system.

Re: Bt tv schedule

More precisely, yes. Arsenal v Manchester United today and Everton v Leeds tomorrow have both dropped out AGAIN, by the way. I think I need to add "fix what the EE box has mucked up in the last 24 hours" to my morning routine, somewhere between cereal and teeth perhaps?

Re: Bt tv schedule

"Jesus wept! Of course the team will give a toss. It will be a complex fix, not as easy as you seem to think it is"

That's why the thread is marked problem solved is it?

Five months of BT saying they will do something about it. It seems nothing counts as something doesn't it?
