The sound keeps cutting off, switching the box off at the mains, re booting it and doing the same on the tv appears to get it working again, but it doesn’t last, maybe an hour and off it goes again, tried moving the hdmi port, un plugging all cables, nothing works apart from a power down, and this is not working every time, just about had enough of it ! Help, please

Touch the On/standby button on the box for just over eight seconds, until it soft reboots. Does that fix it?

When the sound goes, does the picture continue?

Are we talking about sound from the TV, or do you have a soundbar? If so, try without that for a bit.

Can you watch direct on the TV for a bit? If the issue continues, you have a TV problem; if not, you have at least narrowed it down to the YouView box.

Are you in IP mode, so always using the internet, or aerial mode? If the latter can you see if the issue is present when watch linear (live) broadcasting off the aerial, or it only happens on  internet stuff?

Can you check the HDMI cable is running in free air, and not close to other cables that might interfere?

Can you try a different HDMI cable?

Reboot the router?
