Just joined this forum after a frustrating 2 hours trying to get some sense out of BT customer services and Retention Team.
We have BT 4KUHD Youview box (circa 4 years old) and if you go to Featured Apps it shows ITV hub not IITVX. Customer services spent an hour resetting/rebooting our box to no avail and in the end got transferred to a bloke who eventually told me that we can't get ITVX unless you subscribe to a new package (extra 12 quid a month) to get a Pro box or cough up 40 quid to buy one outright.
Has anybody been here before? The retention team bloke said I was only the second person to ask about ITVX!
It's a complete ripoff to extort even more cash from pensioner subscribers for a service which should be free after the imposed extortionate mid term contract increase.
Has anybody found a solution how to get ITVX on BT?
20 year loyalty with BT gets you absolutely nothing.
We want itvx so that we can get rid of the adverts on their premium package.
Thanks for your time!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Unfortunately you need a BT Pro box to get ITVX player.
If you call and say you are leaving on 0800 783 1401, they will put you through to the value team who may be able to offer you a better deal.
Alternatively you can get a Roku player or Amazon firestick and get ITVX player through that.
Maybe you should take your frustrations out on ITV, it's them as service owners who have decided where it is available!
Earlier equipment and recorders are not compatable due to the software used by ITV.
YouView and Freeview Play devices don't have the live channels on the app either.

If you are going to pay for itvX premium you are wasting your time using a BT TV box.
itvX is laggy (even on the Box Pro), doesn't include many of the features available on other devices (as already mentioned) and only offers viewing in standard definition.
I use an Apple TV 4K for app viewing, but even my 7 year old TV has the full itvX app with live channels and additional features in full HD, even without premium (just has ads).
A £30 Amazon Fire Stick will give you a better catch up experience and more app options.
Thanks for your advice.
Sounds like Firestick is a good option if the Pro box performance isn't all that good anyway.
Will give it a try before contributing more to bt profits!

It is not the BT TV Box Pro performance it is rather the ITV app that they (ITV) have provided
@Obclongcase the Pro Box is a powerful bit of kit but the itvx app is a shonky piece of programming and is riddled with issues.
The ITVX app works fine on my fire stick max 4k but I do notice that it is a bit clunky on YouView
