Channel 5 not recording

Just recently channel 5 seems to not be recording, any suggestions.thanks

Which TV box are you using at the moment, and what's happening when you try to record programmes on Five?

Depending on the channel, instead of directly recording in some instances it will take you straight to the catch up option instead.

I normally bring up the guide, and press record on the chosen programme, no issue with other channels, but I have found that it works ok on 5+1, for some reason, but not on the 5 channel, so will continue with that for now, thanks, I have the latest, ee/bt box.

Cheers @Dotty2025, I'm glad you've found a workaround in the meantime, but it's definitely an odd one!

What happens when you try to record from Five via the TV guide?
Does the recording icon appear but the programme doesn't save, or does it give you an outright error when you try to set this up?

Hi, The red icon appears on the guide once the red button pressed, but it does not record.

Thanks @Dotty2025, I've not heard any similar reports on this, but I'll definitely give this a test on my own TV box this evening. 

Is it the same for both live programmes and planned recordings in the future?

If you haven't already, I'd recommend a light reset on your TV box too. 

This will reset the internal settings, but won't affect your saved recordings 😊

Tried that did not work, dont want to do a full reset, as don't want to risk being logged out of apps, thanks for help, will just use the plus 1.

Just as a quick update here @Dotty2025, I've given this a test myself and I'm not facing any issues recording from Five. 

This offers all the usual options, and I can access the ongoing recordings to rewind and pause etc straight away. 

If you've already tried the reset option that saves your recordings, I'd recommend contacting our team, and we can potentially look at getting a fault logged.

Doing a full factory reset would likely solve the problem but as you have mentioned the apps would be signed out and you would loose the recordings.  Glad you have a work around that works for you, you can also use the 5 app to catch up on most things as well

Hi @Dotty2025 

I have the exact same issue. I have programmes that I always record every week on channel 5 and now I can not record any programmes on channel 5 unless you select 5+1.

Did you manage to find a fix ?
