@Cliff until notified otherwise just Discovery plus for now.

Not long ago the oldest youview boxes lost access to all apps.

Would recommend a fire or Roku stick for discovery plus if you don't want to recontract.

Just discovery+ for now @Cliff - although I would expect other apps to follow suit eventually (no specific dates currently known).

When the box is eventually killed completely, it'll most likely go the same way as the T1000 - i.e. it'll work offline only, with no apps, and no subscription channels. If the decision is made to do this, plenty of notice will be given.

Had an email this morning advising me of the changes with a link to the supported device page which has now been updated in line with expectations.

The one plus is that this due to happen on a Monday so will be able to fully watch the round of MotoGP over the weekend and then have a week for any issues to be sorted out with the new service before the next round the weekend after.  But will go back to recording the broadcast coverage just in case for these two rounds.

Sorry. Perhaps more accurate to have said changes to the provision of the service.

The mention of having to download a new version of the app and there being a new landing page for the web site sounds like there will be accompanying significant back end changes which sounds concerning but I will reserve judgement on whether they are for better or for worse until I get a chance to use them.

Ah OK. I haven't see the announcement myself, so didn't know they'd mentioned additional information about updates.
I understand your apprehension now.

@DarrenDev

On 22 September 2025 we will be refreshing our discovery+ platform.

What will happen on 22 September?
1 | When you open your discovery+ app, you'll be prompted to download a new discovery+ app. If you watch via discoveryplus.com, you’ll be redirected to the refreshed platform automatically. Please ensure your browser is using the most current version. A full list of supported devices and operating systems for discovery+ is available here.
2 | Your viewing history will be transferred to the new platform so you can pick up where you left off.

Terms of Use update
As part of that refresh, we’ve updated our discovery+ Terms of Use. Please read the terms in full. These changes take effect from 22 September 2025. They will also be made available to you when you first enter the refreshed platform.

What’s changed in the discovery+ Terms of Use?
Our Terms of Use have been updated to ensure the terms accurately describe our refreshed service, including the types of features that may be available and to reflect recent developments in consumer law. This means they provide more detail on our content viewing and parental control features, our accessibility features, an updated list of devices and operating systems, the reasons we may need to make changes to our service or terms in future, how our billing and payment processes work, clarifications regarding our right to include advertising and Cross-Promotional Content on the platform, prohibitions on the use of ad blocker technology, and restrictions on account sharing outside of your Household.

The language and structure of our terms have also been updated to ensure they continue to be transparent, clear and easy to navigate.

EE TV Humax Devices
Please note that from the launch of the refreshed platform, discovery+ will no longer support the EE TV Recordable Box G4, EE TV 4K Recordable Box G5 or the EE TV Box Z4. You can also watch via any of the many other devices we support, a full list of supported devices and operating systems for discovery+ is available here.

So it's just a case that the revamped app is too complex for the older boxes to run it then.

Good job that the pro and mini box can handle it, even though the pro box can't handle the prime video FAST channels.

Hi,

Am I right in saying the EE TV BOX PRO is a Sagemcom RTIW387 (from a quick search)?

Hopefully D+ will continue to work on this device. I'm surprised it was still supported on the old BT Humax boxes, as I seem to remember it was pretty unusable on the G4 - seemed the box was nowhere near up to running it. I have the same with the D+ running on my Android TV - pretty much unusable.

@fiddlesticks01 as per the above link the pro box will still be supported and it is a sagemcom.

As hardware gets older it can't run newer software apps, as they get more complex.

Just recently got a pro box again and I was surprised that it can now run the stv channel within the app but itvx, channel 4 and 5 apps don't for their respective channels.
