Has the 5 year old at EE, who does their design work, updated the Box recently, I've another row on the left appear?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Yes, the EETV Home Page has had an update. Settings/Guide/Apps/My TV etc are in a menu on the left hand side of the screen now, accessed by pressing the left hand button next to the OK button

Thanks but what total idiots adding an extra function to get on. The Oozlum Bird strikes again.
The box may have a memory leak! I had it in a funny state, only channel up/down and record (the current chanel and no message). Then at about 9:05 goes to EE update and Home screen so went back to what I had been watching but 40% scrambled from a line on RH side.
Put up with this for a few days as no spare hours to call and see if we could sort it. so called told them two extra flaws:
I was move to a more technical team. They asked me to pull the tv plug. Gosh that's a pain at least 7 devices, and a stiff bt vision power supply last in. Levered it oat and after 20 seconds pushed it back, next reboot btbox. Now btvision has no supply, when i was timing the tv disconnect period, My head was behind the unit!
So not a clue what was wrong. tv plug was on the table tower facing the wall, and bt cable looks so stiff it might be fragile, Now Tv help was concerned, suggested a home visit on Saturday, that was ok with me but it morphed to Sunday, not Ok i'm out. so now 2-4 possible today, great. Headed for the shower, call homevisit " I'll be there earlier in 45 minutes. anyway he arrived, Proved a dvd played cleanly meaning btbox was probably the issue. got around the back flicked a switch, box powered up. More than the rest time so box ok to retry. agreed he was smaller than me so he could get in.
Now it was cured, so powering off means a clean restart, but the 9:05 was just a software load, as it was HD with the problem I feel some memory usage was incorrect for a load as it used a video "buffer".
Now if you get scrambled tv on the rhs - just pull the power lead for about 30 seconds - then reinsert.
