EE TV Box Pro hdmi out to multiple tv's

Hi,

Just been upgraded to full fibre and have been supplied an EE Box Pro to replace my BT 4k tv box, I had been able to share the old box output to multiple tv's via a splitter (1 in - 4 out). The new box fails to output to my other tv's. Does anyone know if there is a splitter that works with the EE Pro box? I appreciate that using mini boxes would allow viewing on the other tv's but I use the current set up to play recorded content to the other tv's when required.

This probably comes under "it's a feature not a bug".  Properly implemented HDMI has the ability to prevent the very thing you are trying to do!

Re: EE TV Box Pro hdmi out to multiple tv's

The Pro Box is likely to have a higher level of security on the HDMI connection (HDCP) and unless you're splitter fully supports the same version of HDCP, it's probably not going to work. It's also highly unlikely that BT or the Pro Box manufacturer will tell you what version of HDCP they're running because they don't want you splitting the signal out to multiple devices as BT/EE will want to sell you a MultiRoom add on

@NigelB72  Is there a BT/EE multi-room add on that allows me to play recorded content too? AFAIK the additional boxes provide access to my EE / BT TV content and Apps only. Not Recordings. Which is a  pain. Or has something changed recently?

I use the same method to send the signal from my BT pro box to the lounge tv and the one in the kitchen. (and the 4K box previously). The EE pro box is supposedly exactly the same as the BT supplied one, just a badging change. The splitter I use is an HDMI 2.0 version (Neoteck branded).

@GarethPrice  So are you simply using a  very long HDMI cable to your kitchen from the splitter?

Re: EE TV Box Pro hdmi out to multiple tv's

Thanks for all the feedback.

I have found a temporary solution. If I change the ee box hdmi output to 1080p from the UHD 50 fps 8 bit, my splitter does send the signal to my other tv's successfully. I will do some more investigating.

Re: EE TV Box Pro hdmi out to multiple tv's

My old box was the BT 4k recordable box, not the BT Pro box, there might be slight differences. I have found that changing the hdmi output on the pro box to 1080p works with my splitter even though my 4k box was set at UHD and worked on that setting.

@pddco yes, one hdmi cable from box to kitchen tv, from memory 3 metres, and a 0.5  metre to lounge tv
