EE TV Contract Renewal

Currently I have a discounted "Entertainment" TV package which includes Netflix without adverts. I am now being invited to renew the contract. A box comes up with a description of what I currently have and a "Renew now" button to click on. The word "Renew" suggests that apart from price, the rest of the contract would remain the same, but when I look at the smaller print of "What you'll get" it appears that the Netflix element will go down to Netflix with adverts. Is that what will happen if I renew and, if so, how much extra is it to do away with adverts?

Any advice from people who have been in this situation would be appreciated.

Re: EE TV Contract Renewal

@northshields  I suspect that RENEW doesn't mean EXTEND so you will end up with a current NETFLIX offering that is included  in the Entertainment package.  Perhaps that something that BT need to make clearer.

As NETFLIX Basic is no longer offered for new sale by Netflix I believe you will get Netflix Standard with Adverts in that package. Addon prices to upgrade to Netflix Standard as quoted currently bty BT are.

(Customer with
Netflix Standard with
adverts in their TV
package can upgrade
to Standard + £7.
Customer with Netflix
Basic in their TV
package can upgrade
to Standard + £5)

Were you not to renew and remain out of contract you would revert to paying the standard price (ie without your existing discount) but would retain Netflix Basic.

Last I heard was

EE TV customers with Netflix Basic will remain as they are and won't be forced to change package until their next contract renewal (or late 2026, for those who choose to remain out of contract).

Thank you for that very helpful reply. Currently I am being offered a renewal at £20 per month. Adding £7 for Netflix Standard obviously gives £27. On the other hand, I could get Netflix Standard direct fro Netflix for £12.99 and Now Entertainment for £4.99 for a 12 month contract. That all makes the BT offer look rather expensive.

Of course, I might be offered something better when my existing contract ends.
