Ah apologies I looked at a few this morning - I remembered the wrong one.
Sky channels don't support accurate recording, so the box should have started recording at the scheduled time - unless the TV guide data changed between when you set the recording and when the programme was due to be on. We keep a full history of the data for issues like this - I'll ask for it to be checked.
Thanks again. It’s the first time I’ve had a failure this season. It picked up the series link even though it was last on before the international break 3 weeks ago.
I then set the recording for the programme that followed it manually. It often starts a good 10/15 minutes late after the live game. It is never repeated in the schedules and is not available on catch up on the NOW app.
Just before the recent football international break, I noticed that Ref Watch, which is on between 11am-12noon on Monday mornings on Sky Sports News (and sometimes Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and/or Sky Sports Football as well), had been split in to two halves on the EPG, with one half from 11:00am-11:30am and the second half from 11:30am-12noon. My series record was only going to pick up the first half, so I created a second series record to pick up the second half. That appeared to work ok, albeit being a bit of a nuisance having to play back two recordings!
However, today, despite both halves being programmed, only the first half recorded. If I look back in the EPG, it suggests that both halves recorded. But if I go the play the programme between 11:30am and 12noon, it plays the first half again! So for some reason, it must think that the second half is a repeat of the first half!
Unfortunately, NOW are not very consistent when it comes to making this programme available to view on catch-up which is why I prefer to record it. There is a highlights show that is shown later in the day (usually at 6pm) but I prefer to watch the original hour-long version.
But why on earth is the EPG showing an hour-long programme as two half-hour programmes in the first place?
It seems that the EPG issues that have been dogging BT/EE TV for some time now have still not been fully resolved.
@andydenyer Great spot. I hadn’t noticed that they’d done this as I also like to record this. I just assumed that they’d cut it down to 30 mins if they don’t have enough material for some weeks. My series link only picked up the first half and didn’t quite get the complete programme as it cut off just before the end. In point of fact it’s back to 11-12 in the EPG for next week again now.
I will be keeping a close eye on it. My series link didn’t pick up the 11:30-12 bit. It has scheduled to record the 6-6:30 highlights tonight. I will see whether that includes anything from the second part. My series link has also picked up the 11-12 next week already.
You probably also watch Match Officials Mic’d up which is also on again next week on Tuesday on TNT Sports 2 5:15-5:45 and repeated several times again across TNT and Sky Sports.
@andydenyer @Brucemeister5 the likely reason/explanation is that the 11am and 11:30 editions of Sky Sports:Ref Watch had the same ProgrammerCrid value and id. on the channel you set the recording on in the EETV EPG.
Only my observations/opinions but I think the Sky Sports News HD correctly identified 11am/11:30am as separate programmes in its EPG whereas Sky Sports Premier League HD EPG data made it appear that the the same programme was being broadcast twice.
