The series link for Sky live F1 broadcasters the last month or so has stopped working. Ive tried to reestablish this by deleting it and setting g up again but the option to set up series is not available.
i know if I rent support they will ask me to reset the BT Freeview box, they always do and it never fixes anything.
Anyone else with this issue?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Recently the sky f1 channel recordings quite often fail part way through the recording. This only happens on live broadcasts and only on the F1 channel. Ive seen it happen watching live as well, the signal stops and I get a youview error message suggesting the broadband connection has been lost. When this happens all other sky Chanel’s still work and I can switch to watching it on nowtv. So nothing to do with the connection which is BT full fibre. The support treamas usual asked me to do a full box reset…which did not fix it. They also said it was my hdmi cable, clearly rubbish as the tv signal is still there…..hence being able to see error message and all other channels.
anyone any ideas?
@Gdotp there have been issues with recent F1 schedules and looking at the current EETV EPG for next weeks Belgium Grand Prix these issues are ongoing. The data is missing the series CRIDs for some of the F1 programming and this means the programme is not identified as part of a series which means if you wish to record it you must select it specifically and set to record.
Your second post on recordings not completing is likely to be a separate issue
The automated links not working is annoying enough, but I manually entered this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix programmes into the planner last week, by Tuesday they were showing on the Scheduled Recordings list with an ! as 'scheduling problem".
Readded them, same problem again now. No doubt the companies involved will all blame each other, as usual.
I won't be in during the Sprint qualifying tomorrow (or the normal qualifying on Saturday) and will have limited time to watch them, so I need them to record successfully, but can I be confident of this?
The descriptions are completely screwed up as well, whoever wrote them appears unfamiliar with the concept of a Sprint race with its own qualifying session.
Hello @MartinJSUK ,
thanks for your feedback.
We have been working with our metadata provider to resolve the series recording issues.
The F1 Belgium Grand Prix series is now updated and series linking in place.
We are still working to get Sundays 'Chequered flag' linking in place. In the meantime I would suggest a separate record event for that program.
I will update when I know that Chequered Flag is linked correctly

Hi @Gdotp,
This does sound like a more local issue, I will pass your comments and contact onto a team that can investigate further.

Pretty much getting the same issue as OP. Came home from work this evening, cracked open a beer to watch Sprint Qualy and it's failed to record! Practice 1 seems to have recorded with no issues.
@EPGWhizz Thank You for your responses. Clearly the metadata issues have been recurring over several weeks and once identified seem to take days to resolve. I appreciate the data is supplied downstream but have we got any explanation from your suppliers as to why it has been occcuring and any confidence that the suppliers are on top of the problem. Refering to the rather strange and incorrect programme names and descriptions . i presume this is not the same metadata issue as these are easily (or should be if they make sense) readable .
I've had the same problems with recording the Sky F1 channel. The last few Grand Prix weekends there have been 'scheduling issues' with set recordings and I have had to reset them.
To be honest I lost faith with series links long ago and set each programme individually. I also record several programmes after the event as well just in case of any over run of a race due to red flags, etc. I got fed up of missing the end of a few races.
I have also had a nightmare this week recording the Tour De France highlight programme @ 8pm on TNT Sports. Several times this week they have failed to record at the set time but have been picked up by the Youview system and recorded in the early hours of the next day. I think I have found out what the problem is, when viewing live it appears that the system thinks that the programme prior to this is still showing and therefore does not start to record the set programme. If I set the show to record live just after it has started it records fine and stops at the correct time, but the title of the show is that of the one shown prior to this one.
I live in a rented second-floor flat in an area with no Virgin Media availability, so my choices were to either spend £250ish for a local independent to fit a satellite dish for me, to get the other company's TV-in-a-box-without-a-dish package, or BT. I chose wrong. This feels like a vastly inferior system to what I had 15 years ago, where these issues did happen but much less frequently. I never have any expectation that what I've asked it to record will have actually recorded - recording the short mini-programmes afterwards on Sky Sports F1 is essential, as is double- and triple-checking that the recording is still set correctly during the week. It's infuriating to be spending so much money on a patchy system where everyone blames someone else for the issues.
