As per
https://www.bt.com/help/tv/changes-to-discovery-plus-on-eetv-boxes
discovery+ ceased to be available as an app on a range of EETV (formerly) BTTV boxes on 22 September 2025. So if you have one of those boxes if you are using discovery+ you must be using a different device.
As WBD are moving their streaming home for TNT Sports on 26th March 2026 from discovery+ app to the HBO Max app you would need to used ther HBO Max app which the EETV Box Pro , Box Edge and EETV Apple devices should have available on/around 26 March. New apps tend not to be provided for the legacy boxes.
The linear TNT Sports channels via the TV Box EPG should be unaffected by this particular change.
There has been no mention so far of any changes to viewing TNT Sports via the EETV app.
Just be careful when agreeing to any box upgrade - which if free is probably a good idea - that any impact on your current minumum term contract is explained.
Thanks - so the boxes listed are the old BT branded ones, so the newer EE boxes are ok according to that info.
@fiddlesticks01 EE have said
""From 26 March, all live and on-demand TNT Sports content will move from the discovery+ app to the HBO Max app. EE TV customers’ TNT Sports channels via the TV Guide will not be affected ......
If you have an EE TV Box Pro or EE TV Box Edge, HBO Max will be available automatically from launch. If you took an Apple TV 4K box before April 2026, you'll need to download it from the App Store on your set top box."
So the earlier BT TV badged models of the EETV Box Pro and EETV Box Edge before they were rebadged/remamed should be fine as apparently those Sagemcom boxres are equivalent to their newer EE TV badged models. . The earlier Humax supplied ranges of BT TV Boxes would not get the new HBO Max app but at this time should still retain their ability to play the sports channels via the Guide (EPG).
Curious - will it be possible to record HBO Max content to the Pro boxes?
If it's just an app, no. And I very much doubt anything from HBO Max will be on the EPG.
Has anyone received any direct communication from bt about the upcoming changes to TNT sports or seen anything on the community from mods about it
just seems surprising that given we’ve paying bt for the access we haven’t had anything directly from them other than an email directly from discovery
@BSF74 you just need to download the new app when it's launched and log in using your existing details.
It's EE who deal with the logistics of EETV
There's not that much to say really
End of March the HBO max app will hopefully appear and you'll just create an account to access TNT sports on said app
Make the must of the European football though as TNT will no longer broadcast it after may next year
@Kodikid they will kind of because it'll be on Paramount+ providing the buy out is approved
