@gomezz if you have a look in Play Store on your Samsung tablet do you see the HBO Max app ilsted.. I believe it will appear initially as Coming Soon and an option to pre-register,
Not showing at all in Play Store on the tablet. However the web site landing page has been changed since last I checked to now show UK relevant information and which looks promising. Bookmarked and added to the tablet home screen in readiness for the switch.
Found the app on the Play Store web site and pre-registered to be notified as soon as it becomes available (on my mobile and my Chromecast dongle). Want to make sure I am ready to roll as soon as possible before the Friday afternoon when MotoGP coverage from COTA starts though I will, for once, go back to recording those sessions on my Youview box just in case.
What is the situation with Discovery+ now that TNT Sport has left?
I have the TV+ Sport package (with BT broadband & no other entertainment-type add-ons) - obviously TNT Sport has moved, but looking at the 'Lions Uncut' TNT Sport rugby documentary for example, it looks like I still have access to it on Discovery+, but on HBO Max it says 'unavailable with your current plan'.
Is there a website or something that explains exactly what is and isn't available now on each platform?
Also I'm due to start a new EE TV+Sport contract soon - does the situation with D+ change then? If D+ is no longer included after the new contract starts, what about things such as the TNT Sport film above that I don't have access to on HBO Max?
@gomezz Well the EETV player content shoud not be impacted by the decision to move TNT Sports streaming from discovery+ to HBO Max. The Sports documentaries and some sports content have also appeared on channels Quest/Dmax etc so it is reasonable to find (selected) content at least to continue to apprear on discovery+ as well as the TNT Sports section of HBO Max.
@fiddlesticks01 Thank You for highlighting the Sport Documentaries issue. My suspicson is that it is a mistake. The reason I conclude this is that there are whole load of Game Changing Documentaries included in the TNT section of the HBO Max app ... saying Get Access. So their App menus includes them in the TNT section but the underlying data seems to indicate they are not available with TNT Sport subscription.
... I have posted about this issue in a thread in EE community with a screenshot (visible) when approved so hopefully someoine can pass it to appropriate WBD/TNT team(s).
@zulu17 Thanks - regarding the general question - do you know whether Discovery+ be phased out? I saw a suggestion that when I renew my EE TV contract shortly, it will then no longer be available.
@fiddlesticks01 Currently discovery+ remains as an app but without the TNT Sports streams so effectively just “discovery+ Entertainment”
EETV don’t sell discovery+ entertainment so if you want it, you have subscribe directly
. those in existing contracts with EE TV where discovery+ entertainment was included in the TV package typically will continue to receive it until they change their existing TV package .
It's not being phased out but EE are no longer including it in any of its tv packages
This makes sense as it really was only a gateway to TNT .
That honour now goes to HBO max
Personally apart from the sports there was nothing worth watching
One of my favourite series in their stable was disasters at sea and out off two seasons only three or four episodes were ever available.
