IP6023

Watching BT Sport is totally intermittent. Constantly buffering, and the error message comes on almost daily.

I paid for Sky Sports box office and the buffering made it impossible to watch.

When there's no event it seems to work, when there is an outside broadcast, forget it.

Can you suggest a solution please?

@MaryJaniec

How is your Youview box connected to your router , which is presumably a BT SmartHub?

What broadband package are you on and what are your connection stats which'll be somewhere on the advanced tab I think - don't use a SmartHub myself?

Re: IP6023

Hi Tim,

There is a power cable to AC plug.

An Ethernet cable, flashing orange and green, rj-45? to the BT mini connector and into the wall plug which is used as the aerial for upstairs (two blue lights).

A coax cable and an HDMI cable both from box to TV.

Re: IP6023

Those BT mini connectors are um, how to put this politely?, not the best thing for the job, my money is on them and if possible you should try using an ethernet cable between the box and the router.

Another possibility if you're on FTTP is the ONT, try powering it down and removing any backup battery for at least 30 seconds and then power it back up

Re: IP6023

Thanks for that lol. I've just connected the router to the tv box with the Ethernet cable and all is fine, no buffering, HD as well.

Problem is the router is upstairs and TV box in the lounge.

Have to move stuff around then.

Thanks again

Re: IP6023

Pleased to hear I eventually managed to help someone (lol).

You can use up to 100m of ethernet cable, you may (or may not) wish to consider drilling holes in your exterior walls and running the cable from one room to the other externally. It's not everyone's ideal solution but it's reasonably quick to do and avoids draping wires above doorways and upstairs etc

Re: IP6023

That's made the system totally stable, better picture on HD as well.

Thanks for the advice.
