Hi. We have always recorded our local 6.30 news to watch later, now since the change all recording go to iPlayer and it says not available, surely this is ridiculous that you cannot watch what you record. Is it just us or general??? Thanks Bob
You are in IP Mode, and the wrong-headed approach of the BBC to this is now to treat the recording as an invitation to show you the programme from the iPlayer instead. If it’s available, which the local news never is.
Can you go back to Broadcast Mode, assuming you have a working TV aerial? Plug the aerial into the box, and Factory Reset it, let it churn through the options, and choose Broadcast/Aerial Mode when this is offered.
This will stop the nonsense, and the box will go back to making and playing real recordings from the BBC channels.
Factory Reset wipes all your existing recordings, though, so make sure to watch any that you haven’t seen, and want to see, before the Factory Reset.
If you haven’t got a TV aerial, but could have one, BT will arrange it for you for about £30, I think. They must be doing a roaring trade at the moment, now that the limitations of IP Mode are becoming apparent 😛
@Gramps1 that is how EETV have agreed with the BBC that recordings off BBC channels made in IP mode will be on their Box Pro.
Hi. Thanks for the answer, it seems utterly crazy to me that we have to go backwards to our old aerial after great strides of internet tv going forwards. Some progress!!!
