Loss of major HD channels

Keep intermittently losing HD channels not the ones because of 5g but BBC and ITV HD channels. Have had TV box replaced. First one could get them second one did now channels lost with second new box. Plugging ariel in to use TV inbuilt Freeview and all channels are there. This started about 4 weeks ago. Sick and tired of retuning it's pot luck. Already eyeing up other suppliers for TV Broadband and phone when contract is up. If I can get all available channels using my aerial then what's the problem? Anyone?

Re: Loss of major HD channels

Check your signal strength and quality through the settings on the box. If you're at between 90 & 100, it's more than likely that the tuners in the Youview box are being overloaded. If this is the case you can buy a signal attenuator from Amazon etc for a couple of quid. This should solve the problem.

Re: Loss of major HD channels

Hi, would that apply to either for example strength 100, quality 50 or vice versa.

Thanks

Re: Loss of major HD channels

Yup... It could be the cause of your issue. An attenuator will all you to turn the recieved signal strength down to give a more stable level.

Re: Loss of major HD channels

Thanks for this, so far so good. Ordered one off Amazon. Why BT Technical support couldn't suggest this is beyond me. No need to have tried 2 different boxes.
