Main Menu Screen on my T4000

Go to solution

Triggered by the Blue 'Home' Button on the Remote - Has shrunk to a single line of Images and a Menu-Bar Line from which to select the EPG, APPs, MyTV Recordings etc down to SETTINGS  ...

Yesterday and for eons previous it had a line of Images for each of the items mentioned & you had to go to the top of the Screen for SEARCH & SETTINGs

Havent seen others commenting, so have I somehow 'shrunk' the Screen ?

Any ideas appreciated !

@speedtrip

Difficult to know, but it sounds like the UI has reverted to before the 2016 update. Mine hasn’t, so it’s not a general T4000 thing.

Soft reset the box by touching the On/Standby button for just over 8 seconds until it soft reboots, and see if that fixes it.

If not, then a Maintenance Mode, Keep Recordings, is a bit more thorough-going:-

Follow the instructions for Recordable 4K Box.

Please let us know if that fixes it!

Brilliant - would have been my next move, but wanted to check it wasnt something I'd done !

100% success - altho mind-numbing waiting for it to run the process - & finding an update too ... its the hiding of so many dross Channels that is so time consuming ...

Thanks for your diligence - wonder how many times you've had to paste in that info !

@speedtrip I suspect that any changes to Home page layout that you have experienced are not down to anything that you have done but rather to Youview/EETV continuing to look to continue the journey  to improve the home screen.

Dont think so - the Box had reverted to an old version - a Facory Reset has fixed & returned it to what i had previously .
