I am the proud owner of a new BT Pro box.
I've set up virtually everything but I simply cannot seem to get the Channel 4 app to appear in the apps menu options despite several restarts of hub, box and software updates. The latter did successfully produce my subscription Netflix/ Now / Prime apps, but Channel 4 refuses to appear and there seems to be no option to add apps on demand like on the TV.
Any ideas?
Was the box supplied by BT/EE as part of a subscription?
Yes, as a replacement for an old one
So, did you have any idea about this issue please? I still cannot get the app.
As far as I aware Apps on Youview boxes including the Box Pro are provided based upon the box model , the broadband ISP it is conencted to and the acceptance of various terms and conditions when the box is setup.
So observations/questions based upon your experience
Is the Box Pro brand new or a reconditioned box? You mention it as a BT Box Pro rather than an EE Box Pro which is suggests that it might be a reconditioned/returned unit. If it is a reconditioned unit a full factory reset and then setting up afresh may be worth while,
In the Box setup process did you accept all the terms and conditions or defer any of them ?
Are you using any VPN that might confuse/hide your location ?
Well, my contract is all with BT although obviously that is now called EETV. It was BT who agreed to send me the replacement box and described it on the phone as a BT Pro box although the box it came in is labelled EE and the little guidebook also describes it as EE Box Pro. I'm not sure how else to identify it.
My guess is it is a brand new one , although not sure how I would actually know. It certainly looks like one.
Hmm to the terms and conditions question. I can't remember. Would this specifically stop Channel 4 whilst allowing all the others though?
No, to the VPN question.
thanks
If it's provided as part of a subscription, call BT or EE and raise a fault with them as these forums are basically dead to BT or EE employees now.
