Hello.
I recently purchased a new BT Youview box. Upon setting it up everything works fine, however I have issues with getting Apps to work.
BBC Iplayer and other things work just fine, however for ITVX and Channel 4'x app I get the error code YVM105. I have tried resetting it, turning on and off etc. etc. It does not seem like an internet issue as again, Iplayer and Netflix etc. work just fine.
I am also unable to update the software, i get a message saying "We can't update your software Please try again" but this never changes
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Here’s BT’s official advice:-

Put in YVM105.
However, I have a vague folk memory that these two players need you to have tuned in the relevant TV channels, 3 and 4, before they will work. Have you done this? If not, try it.
Don't worry about the apps update. It never works, and now gets done automatically.
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately the channels are already tuned in.
I have followed that advise before, but that too does not seem to be the case here. My internet connection is working fine, as I am able to get on Iplayer just fine.
which BT Youview box (model) is it that you purchased and are you sure it is a brand new box or one that has previously been in use at another location ?
Did you experience a full setup process with the new box when you first plugged it in ?
Were you asked to input your postcode during the setup process ?
It is this unit.
Youview box
It should be brand new out of the box, and it did look that way. Yep full setup process including inputting postcode etc. The box works for browsing all the channels as per normal, its just when you want to go back and catchup via ITVX/4oD that this error occurs
Looks like a Mod edited it and made the link to the box useless...
Hopefully this picture will work too
I guess you got that ‘zapper’ DB-T2200 box from a third party. I hope you didn’t pay very much for it.
Send it back, and ask for one that works.
And maybe one that records? I never saw the point of the zapper box outside of BT’s pre-Pro Multiroom deal, and I never though that deal was value for money anyway…
