Prime Video Live Event viewing on Box Pro

Went to watch the Autumn Rugby International  today and noticed that the Prime Video player on the Tv Box Pro displays message

Pause, rewind and fast forward of live events is not supported on this device

Are there any plans to have this facility in the future as currently I have switched over to the Samsung Tv player which does have this supported.

Re: Prime Video Live Event viewing on Box Pro

It seems to have been an Amazon issue on some devices. Seen other platforms reporting the same.

Re: Prime Video Live Event viewing on Box Pro

Ok same issue with the Tennis Coverage.

It does come as a dissapointment   given the high spec of the BT TV Box Pro that the Prime Video App does not privide the functionality  to pause, rewind , and fast-forward live TV events, In my opinion that is a basic requirement in this day and age.

If I use  the BT Tv Box Pro and select the live tennis I get taken straight to the current live stream with no option to view from earlier (ie the start of the match).

So what is being done (if anything) to remedy this - Have BT TV  or Youview raised this with Amazon - if not can they please do so. If it has been raised  what is the planned timescale for resolution.

Re: Prime Video Live Event viewing on Box Pro

Amazon manage their own app on the BT TV boxes, and control which features are available.  As stated on their web site (which I cannot link to):

14) Can I rewind, pause and fast forward on my device?

Rewind, pause and fast forward are available on Android/iOS Mobile, Web (Chrome, FireFox, Edge), Fire TV, Apple TV (Gen 3 and newer) & selected Smart TVs. Use Watch from beginning play buttons on the detail page or in player to watch from the match kickoff. These feature may not be available on all the devices.

We don't have any view of their development plans, or any details on why they don't support trickplay. It's not part of the BT TV Box Pro certification criteria that they must support it.  It was raised during pre-launch trials, and closed down as something that we have no control over.

From a dev perspective, I can say that it took us a while to offer this feature in the BT Sport app across all devices - every device has its own complications with handling streams like this. Maybe they're working on it? You'd need to ask them.

Re: Prime Video Live Event viewing on Box Pro

Thank you for your response.

Amazon response is.
“There is nothing Amazon can do for it “

They will take it as feedback

and “Amazon takes customers feedback very seriously.”

So currently the Prime Video App  BT TV Pro  is good for replays after  the event but not good for viewing live events in progress if you wish to watch them from the start or wish to pause or rewind.
