Can anybody advise? Sometimes the digibox is not responding to the remote control, sometimes if I press a up/down/left/right button, or the volume or even a number/digit, the box doesn't register one press but keeps repeating the entry. So if I've pressed "right" to reach a recording the selection keeps moving towards the right; if I choose channel 1 it responds as if I've entered 111111 etc.
If I hold the remote very close to the digibox, then it's more likely to respond properly.
I've tried resetting the remote, and I've tried resetting the digibox, to no avail.
Are there any solutions? Thanks
Good morning @FitzoliverJ.
Welcome to the BT Community!
If you go to the settings for your TV Box and select Settings > Connected Devices > Bluetooth Remote, does the battery show low charge?
What version is the Firmware showing as too?
Peter
Thanks for responding.
This isn't a bluetooth device, just a normal light-beam remote control.
Box information is as follows:
Component Software: 3.8.250 (fb6194)
Manufacturer Software: 32.159.0
Platform Configuration: 4904 (d586f305)
Thanks @FitzoliverJ, the remote can differ depending on the model of TV box you're using.
Have you tried popping some fresh batteries in it?
Also could there be anything else in the room that could be causing interference between the remote and box?
Peter
Yes, I have tried new batteries, and there's nothing that I can see would be causing interference
Thanks @FitzoliverJ, if none of that has made any difference, then I'd definitely recommend reaching out to our technical team so they can run through a few further checks on this.
Keep us posted on how you get on too!
Peter
This sounds like sticking keys. Wipe round each one, ideally with isopropyl alcohol, but meths will do at a pinch.
If thinking it might be sticking keys, try pointing the remote at your phone’s camera and press a key. You may be able to see the IR led flash briefly on the image on an unstuck key. Or continuously on a stuck one. To be honest it was brighter and easier to see on a compact camera I had. But you may be lucky with a phone’s.
Thanks everybody for responding. The Technical Team have diagnosed a breakdown and are going to replace the device.
