Is there a shortcut to my tv /recordings like a long press of a certain button be nice to just go strait there from watching something 🤔
@Tomjeffrey20 not on EETV remotes.
You could try pressing Home , down,down in quick succession to get you to the MYTv line. But even then you will need to do further navigation.
Better and easier recording features have been suggested by users since the very beginning but few have been adopted.
There is a "secret" code to do this but not supported on the supplied remote control. You need to find a universal remote control that can be programmed at the low level code level and you need to find what that code is.
I have a Logitech Harmony remote control that lets me do this but that was some years back and the info on how and what to code was on posted on the old Youview support forums that bit the dust shortly after.
Not sure if the online Harmony database entry for the Youview box includes this code.
@Tomjeffrey20
As a present I bought last month a replacement remote for someone who wanted to do exactly what you are asking.
The plusnet youview remotes also work on the ET/BT pro youview boxes, but unlike the old slim line BT remotes, instead of the button marked "BT Player" they have a button marked either "MyView" or "MyTV" which will take you straight to your recordings.
A major point to watch out for is if you are buying the remote to use full time, as opposed to just teaching a learning remote what the IR code is for going straight to your recordings. Like the BT branded slim line remotes, the plusnet remotes morphed into remotes were it was very easy to press the wrong button by accident. If you buy a slim line remote to use instead of just to teach a learning remote the IR code, may sure you buy one where the navigation buttons are silver and not black. The later black versions can be very frustrating.
The plusnet remote model codes with the silver navigation buttons are those that begin RC3124702 and RC3124704. Sometimes sellers of plusnet remotes list RC3124706 remotes as RC3124702 and RC3124704. That is obviously fine of you just want to find the cheapest so that a leaning remote can be taught the code but not if you want to actually use it. Ideally check if the seller includes a picture of the actual remote and that it has silver navigation buttons, that the branding is just "youview", and that it includes a button marked either "MyView" or "MyTV".
( I think I may still have a copy of a far fuller answer and other alternatives (e.g. accessibility keyboard controls) that I posted on the old youview forum. I'll re-post if I come across it but I've covered the most likely essentials in this reply.)
