Good evening,
It is some time since I asked a question and you always know the
answers, so here goes.
Several years ago, when I had trouble with an older TV Box, one
lady here told me how to reset it without losing any recordings,
is there any way that this can be done with the more modern,
"Pro", box?
I have had trouble with it for some time, now, including, it going
off, every 30 seconds, plus it lost the "Guide", when I tried to play
play a recording I am told that it is not available and to check the
connection between the box and the hub.
An engineer visited today, a "Sub Contractor", all he could do was
to re-set the box to "Factory Settings", this wiped all my recordings,
the box is behaving now, but in case I, or anybody else for that matter
needs to reset it, it would be nice to be able to keep the recordings.
Thank you for your time in treading this and I really hope that you
have the solution that I am looking for.
Mike.

How do I reset my BT TV box? | BT Help
The inference seems to be that you can reset the box without losing recordings if you use the first of the two possible methods but you will lose your recordings if you use the second method.
Thank you Les-Gibson, this is exactly the kind of information that I was
looking for, unfortunately too late on this occasion, but I will save it for
the future.
Why are these Mobile Engineers, who are mainly sub-contractors, with
another company, not trained in these proper methods, maybe a suggestion
to this, can be passed up the line in the BT Technical Support Section.
Thank you for sharing your Knowledge.
Mike.
