Hopefully the feature request will correct the issue when it comes. Thanks @DarrenDev
Well, nothing in this thread agrees with the Subscribed behaviour I’m seeing now, which is that it does seem to be what I’d expect based on the subscriptions I have.
And the only channels I see that I think I shouldn’t are the Now Sports channels, and there aren’t any channels that I think I should see and don’t.
So I have two hypotheses;-
1. EETV erroneously think I have a Now Sports subscription when I don’t
2, Having a Now Membership causes all the Now channels to be shown, which is not granular enough, it needs to be by Membership.
Can anyone tell me what the rules about what appears in Subscribed are supposed to be, here in 2025?
Are you trying to earn the "raising the dead" forum badge @Midnight_Voice ? 😉
It sounds like they've restored the original intended behaviour - to show channels that are only available via subscription (regardless of whether you have it). What you're seeing would therefore be correct.
There’s an ongoing discussion about this over on the EE community, and this thread got mentioned.
I see the topic got left in 2022, but it seems changes went on, but nothing else was ever posted.
But like most people, it seems, I want Subscribed to apply to me personally, and what you describe would be better called Subscribable.
And it now does look like it’s pretty close to what I would prefer; I don’t see TNT, which for me would be Subscribable but not Subscribed, and I don’t see the Indian (?) channels, I pretty much just see the Now channels. But while I’ve got Entertainment and Cinema, I don’t have Sport.
I guess my criterion for Subscribed is to list only paid-for channels that I can watch without further expense.
But was there a spec for reprogramming Subscribed, and if so, can we know what it said? The design intent is key here.
I think for most customers, using the suitable coloured button on the remote to hide and unhide channels they are subscribed or aren't subscribed to would be sufficient.
That’s known as ‘Keeping a dog and barking yourself’ 😛
Hi
In Subscribed, I have Now Sky News 313, Discovery 320, and then Now Sky Entertainment 340 to 385, Now Sky Sports 418 to 449, what was Now Kids 466 to 477, Now Sky Cinema 500 to 525.
No Discovery HD, EETV, NETFLIX, prime video, 325 to 334. No Sony 390, 391, no Utsav, etc. 392 to 397, no TNT 408 to Eurosport 413, no TNT 430 to Eurosport 436, no TNT 450 to 465, no TNT Box Office 494 to 495, no Sky Box Office 496 to 497.
That Box Office, TNT and Sky, aren’t Subscribed channels I can understand, but other than that what are the rules here, given that the box doesn’t know at this point what channels I personally am and am not subscribed to?
We could start with why TNT doesn’t count as Subscribed, I guess…
I just set up a Box Mini, and in the intro at the end, it said ‘Press Subscribe and see all the channels you are paying for’ (or something very similar).
But not ‘could pay for’.
