Maybe a hangup from thee early days of UHD, when a TV might only have one UHD input. Bearing in mind the box is around 9 years old now. Unless your TV is of similar vintage, I doubt there's an issue.

It actually says you need to find an HDMI input that supports HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2
It has no idea which, if any, inputs on your TV meet this standard, but suggests you ask the maker, or go to

for assistance. Unfortunately, this no longer works. But most HDMI inputs on modern TVs will support this or better.
TV is a Samsung 2015 vintage & has an HDMI Socket Id'ed as HDMI 2.0 - as per the T4000 Booklet which you partially quoted ...
It depends what you have the resolution of the YouView box set to.
If it’s set to UHD, it will always matter, even if the source material is at a lower resolution. If it’s set to a lower resolution, it will never matter.
I used to run my T4000 at 1080p, when there wasn’t much UHD around, as I judged my LG GX as slightly better at upscaling than the T4000. But now there is more UHD around, I run the T4000 at the highest resolution, and bypass the upscaling on the GX. Better a slight loss on 1080p than a massive one on UHD/1080p/UHD.
are the recordings you are viewing @speedtrip when the problem occurs finished recordings (ie the programme has ended broadcast or ) are you starting to watching a recording of a programme before the programme ends on the live channel ?
@zulu17 .. they were all 'completed' recordings (altho I have in the past 'chase viewed' currently recording progs, with no problem...)
I have been thru the list of eliminations, including a swap of HDMI TV Sockets & a Reset of the Box - the T4000 can still be persuaded to Power Down when 'Jump Foward ' is used - but not immediatly - & usually towards the end of a Recording ...
Any duration press of the FF Button just increments to X30 ...
Thanks for everyone's interest & help
Maybe it’s the remotes want resetting?
The simplest explanation may be that the Jump Forward is sending a Power Off instead.
Or if that’s too simple, that the box is interpreting a Jump Forward as a Power Off. Especially if the box has to be on for an hour or two before this will happen.
Mind you, when two identical box/remotes exhibit an identical problem that I’ve never come across before, nothing is simple 😢
The Controller is the new one that came with the new T4000 .... so again we have identical problems with both T4000' and both Remotes ... it would seem - but I'm sure its something else ...
so an Update on the Power Down Saga for my two T4000's .... after a couple of Red Herrings like Standby time & a dubious SPIDF Cable (yep, clutching at Straws !) - I reported the failure to BT Service & they have sent a replacement Box -
..... to my surprise, its another T4000, not the new TV PRO box ....
So now we wait & see if I can use use 'Jump Forward' w/o the Box Powering down
Did EETV ask you to recontract, and you declined?
Getting a Box Pro seems to depend on being willing to recontract.
