Tv pro box error YVM102

Hi, when watching ITVX and C4 apps after a few minutes the screen freezes with error code YVM102. It then says broadband connection restored. Then I have to close app and re start it. Then same thing happens again, mainly during adverts. This only happens using these two apps . The broadband is not dropping and iPlayer Netflix etc are all fine. I’ve powered off router, tv box and accepted terms of use in settings. Any ideas? Thanks Ross

@rossy1982

Streaming services seem to have a lot of trouble returning from the adverts. Netflix and the BBC iPlayer don’t  have adverts, and so don’t have the issue.

Can you try My5, which does have adverts, and see if that plays up, or if it works OK?

Observation  from reading Youview's privacy policy - I believe that ITV and C4 are the two YouView content partners that employ targetted adverts,

@zulu17

It seems you can have targeted ad campaigns on both Channel 5 and My5:-

of Channel 5: “We can select specific audiences and regions to ensure you are reaching the right audience at the right time.”

of My5: ‘Advertising on My5 opens up a range of targeting opportunities, it allows us to target local geographic areas whilst overlaying advanced audience targeting.”

https://www.mediaperformance.co.uk/tv/

Although this is an ad agency talking, they could hardly be talking like this unless 5 offered them such regional splits, and in the case of My5, possibly even more granularity.

i suppose, though, it is possible that this granularity is not available on the My5 app on YouView. It would also be useful to know when this Privacy Policy is dated.

@Midnight_Voice

My observation was based upon this Youview statement

4.1       We have arrangements in place with our TV Partners (currently ITV and Channel 4) to enable them to personalise the content and viewing recommendations in their apps and to deliver targeted adverts you see (when viewing either their channels, or third party channels for whom our TV Partners provide advertisements for, on their behalf) on the YouView Service

@zulu17

Indeed so, and I read that. The implication, then, is that when I watch Channel 5/My5 on a Freeview device, I will see targeted ads, if I accept such, but on a YouView device, I won’t.

But all this goes back to @rossy1982 ‘s difficulties with exiting the ad breaks on itvX and Channel Four apps, and we never did hear back how My5 behaved 😢

@Midnight_Voice

I don’t know if  you  saw this  ITV statement  from October 2023

https://www.itv.com/presscentre/media-releases/itv-ushers-new-era-addressable-tv-advertising

What I find a little curious is ITV 1 isn’t  listed as one of the linear channels for addressable ads but I guess their contracts for ads on that  channel may require them to deliver the ad to all viewers  for that region.
