Re: Will we ever get AV volume control? (EETV Pro)

Oh sorry dude, I did see that but for some reason it didn’t register. Actually from memory I misunderstood.

Do I need to add the Box to my remote as Humax or Youview, I mean to say do you know the code for the remote?

Logitech don't use codes, they use actual model numbers. So if a device doesn't exist you have to first try a previous generation, then something else that uses  the same IR set & if all else fails, you can teach individual commands.

The One-For-All types do use codes that are listed by device type & then manufacturer. I'd expect a BT box to be listed but if not, the Humax PVR code should works. Typically they list all variations of codes that a manufacturers has used, so there can be some trial & error to find the right one.

Re: Will we ever get AV volume control? (EETV Pro)

I used to have quite an expensive One for All which you could configure by Bluetooth and an iOS app. Made it very easy, had it for yonks but eventually as it was One for All and I had more devices back then it wore out and stopped learning things. I did like the Macro feature though because before HDMI control was really good you could press one button and it would power on a given device, amp and tv all at once sending three separate signals.

I got a cheaper one this time which in its supported codes mentions ‘YouView’ by name and a few codes for that, maybe I I’ll start there then go to Humax. Failing that I’ll get it to learn everything which would be a work around but actually thinking about it that wouldn’t work as the One for all wouldn’t receive an IR signal to learn.

Thanks so much for the help I’ll report back my results later on I hope.

Solved!

Thanks guys for helping me look towards the remote itself and not the BT TV box, I solved this for 12 quid.

Got myself one of the All for One Remotes (Model 1240) that allows you to lock volume control to a given device no matter what source you are controlling and sure enough I was able to add the BT TV Box to the controller as a SAT device using code 4031, infact this code is in my paperwork but not on their site strangely enough. Then I added my Denon AV as the AMP then locked volume to AMP.

Indeed the IR works just like the Bluetooth does, definite thanks to the guys who posted here because I wasnt looking at a solution that was right in front of me.

As a bonus, you also now have the missing "stop" button!

You know as I never had it before I didn’t actually notice it being there!

I now have EE tv box, but plugged into an AV system Onkyo + SkyQ etc but now can't use the EE remote to control sound settings and have to use two remotes to do what I can normally do with just one I.e volume and power mute

@Mrlewisuk

From this link:-

https://uk.humaxdigital.com/support/?category_id=14&product_id=885

you can download the list of codes that the original curvy YouView remote can use to control devices like TVs; but it’s not just TVs, it’s Receivers and other Audio kit as well, and  this gives:-

Onkyo 006, 063, 114

So these codes ought to be in the Box Pro’s remote repertoire; and if you reset the Box Pro remote, plug the Box Pro into the Onkyo and re-pair the remote, then it may control the Onkyo.

’May’ because there’s a possibility that the code set in the Box Pro has been reduced from that of the earlier YouView boxes, and this won’t work. But it should be worth a try.

If no go, then you could source an original curvy YouView remote off Amazon or eBay, which we know has those codes, and try it.

If this approach does work, then you will have control of the Box Pro and of the Onkyo, but if you ever need to control the TV directly - e.g. on/off, it won’t be covered, and you will need the TV remote.

If this is an issue, then a One For All, which can control all three, might be the answer.

I should not need to buy extras just to use EE tv box remote with AV system. It should work as out of the box. But so far unable to add this youview remote to my system......what a waist

@Mrlewisuk

Better to light one candle than to stand cursing the darkness.

But I’m not clear whether you have even tried my first suggestion, which would require no further expenditure?
