For some reason YouView keeps switching off today for no reason, when we switch back on it says waking up. Anyone any idea what’s going on?
thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
It sounds like your box might be failing.
Next time you get it on, touch the On/Standby button for just over 8 seconds to get it to do a clean soft reset (keeps your recordings) and report back.
If its Dt4000 it may be end off life. Mine was freezing and not able to change channel. BT sent me a Pro Box as a replacement.
Any YouView box of any age, even a Pro box, has a small chance of dying at any time.
The risk may well increase with age, but every one of the six YouView boxes I have had is still going strong, except for my first T1000, which lasted about three weeks, in 2012. Even my second T1000 is still going ‘strong’, for some definition of strong encompassing it still doing everything it possibly can do now YouView have pulled the plug on it.
T4000s, being the newest boxes before the new Pro boxes, should outlast the T2xxxs; but only on average, not for any one particular box.
Thank you, this seems to have helped, it’s stayed on for the last couple of hours. Many thanks
