That would appear to be the cycle of doom caused by a HD failure.

As already stated, it sounds like a hard drive failure, BT will replace the box if you're in contract.

If you're out of contract then there is a video on Youtube which shows you how to replace the drive yourself.

Re: You view stuck in wake-up loop

I have the same problem on one of our T2100s. I had replaced the hdd due to a different problem, and it worked perfectly until I had to power it off from the wall socket. As soon as I powered it up again it just went round through the 'Loading' screen back to the BT screen loop. I tried replacing the hdd with another good one, and did the Maintenance mode operation to format the drive. However, this did not work either. I used all the options in Maintenance mode with no success. I have also tried the box using the psu from our other T2100 with the same result.

I have searched extensively on the internet for any answers to this problem, and it seems no one has succeeded in solving it. Please can anyone help?

@NeilG4

You likely have a hardware problem that is not fixable even by replacing the hard drive. As you have recently replaced the original hard drive, I guess you don’t have too many recordings waiting to be watched.

Given the price of a working one of these on eBay or CeX, it’s probably not worth going any further with it.

Though maybe treat yourself to a T4000 or a Box Pro as its replacement?

Thank you ever so much for your reply.

I have just ordered a T2100 from ebay for £24 so if I have the time I might compare multimeter readings.

It was nice to hear you recommending the T4000 and Box Pro, I will investigate those.

I'm a happy bunny because I have solved the wake-up loop!

I did a chkdsk find and repair on one of the drives with it formatted to NTFS, and although it didn't find anything, I might have missed something early on. I sprayed the SATA connector inside the T2100 with contact cleaner. I reinstalled the drive, and did the Factory reset, delete recordings option. To my delight it did a normal YouView installation, and it has worked ever since even after power has been disconnected.

I will have another T2100 arriving in the post soon, but I will check it out then resell it.

Pleased that you got it going. It's good to keep older kit working, keeping it out of landfill/recycling. I've got a DTR T1000 from 2013 in daily use as a DTR. Also a Topfield from 2005.

The best chance of success with a replacement HDD is to use one that is blank and unformatted.
