YouView set-top box not working

Hi,

I had the power off the other day and when it was put back on my set-top box wouldn't boot. It semed to be stuck in a loop of "starting up" then after a few minutes the screen went off and the box started up again. there was a whining noise coming from within, the HDD I presume. I went through each of the factory reset options - all failed.

I replaced the box with a spare I had in another room and went through a factory reset via internet on that and it works just fine.

I have a few questions/options from here: Will BT replace the faulty box or does it belong to me? Can I open it up and replace the Hard drive? If not can I bin it or do I need to send it back?

Thanks in advance,

Simon.

If you have an active BT TV subscription and the box is faulty, they'll replace it.
