Changing an email address category

I only have one email address associated with my account. It is listed as one I have given to friends and family so I appear to have given it to myself. There are no other email addresses listed as active under my account. I tried to import it but it comes back as already associated with my account.

The only way to change the category would seem to be to delete it from the "given" list and re-create it under the "active" list but that would presumably lose all data. Any suggestions on how to do this gratefully received.

Re: Changing an email address category

Don't delete it, you won't be able to re-create it.

Why does it matter, what do you want to do with it that you can't already do?

Re: Changing an email address category

I don't use it as my primary email as I have my own domain name for that so it makes no practical difference which category it is listed under, it is just a minor irritation. As I have no other active btinternet.com email address I am also concerned that BT may decide in the future to remove email services from my account products. This is becoming more common with other email services as well as BT.

I don't want to create another address simply to act as a placeholder when I already have a btinternet.com address in use. It would seem to be a simple enough change but seems to be impossible for the account holder to achieve.

Just make sure that you  use or log into the account within a 150 day period.
