This has probably been asked before, but can anyone confirm that there is no way of contacting a real person online via their website in spite of several claims to the contrary, such as "A 'Message now' button will appear in a few moments during opening hours" or "chat to us online".
I just want to know if the basic email you get when you leave BT happens automatically or as I read somewhere in their conflicting information, you have to request it or open a premium email account again.

when you leave you should receive an email 'sorry you are leaving' which explains email downgraded to basic mail only accessible using browser not app or you can pay £7.50pm and get premium email and continue as you are
