I have two email accounts and email from my hotmail account to BT one fairly often. The hotmail email is on my BT Mail safe sender list.
In the last couple of weeks there have been significant delays in the mail arriving in my BT mail account. For example, I sent the same email (has two pdf single page attachments) twice yesterday. The one sent in the morning has not arrived (is in my hotmail account as sent) . The second one sent in the early evening arrived four hours later. Nothing in my Spam.
I suspect that I have had the issue with other emails from some senders but more difficult to know.
Any suggestions/ reasons why this is happening and how to fix it? Never had the issue before and being doing this for a number of years.

The fix is to stop using BTinternet for email and use something else like Gmail. You will be much better off and not tied to an ISP email.
Thanks.
Should have made it clear that I don't want to move from my BT email address. I understand it would have longterm benefit but a lot of hassle so not an option currently. Just want the BT email to work and wanted advice about that.
you can keep your bt email address but still use gmail to collect and send email alternative is thunderbird for pc and bluemail for phone
It could be a BT server problem. Try turning your BT Hub off overnight and when you turn it back on it should have been issued with a new IP address and will hopefully be connected to a different BT email server.
I had a similar event a few weeks ago. My solution was to contact them via the online chat and they said they had re initilaised my email account at their end all has been good since.
