EE and BT email

With the coming of EE to replace our BT broadband contracts, does anyone know if a user would continue to be able use his/her @btinternet.com email addresses once his/her broadband contract were changed to an EE contract? Perhaps unwisely, I have taken advantage of the @btinternet.com offerings and have several accounts, all of which are in regular use. I don't want to get caught out, so I thought it best to ask.

Be careful if/when you do transfer. I transferred my BT mobile to EE because, financially, it was a no-brainer, but I was charged for leaving my BT mobile contract early. I couldn't believe it either! The charge was refunded after I protested but the very fact that it was imposed suggests a need to be very careful when dealing with these people.

Currently when you leave BT your email addresses become basic and are only available when you login through a web browser, you can’t use apps. You can pay, I think about £10/month, for premium where you can use apps. And as BT stopped providing email addresses to new customers some time ago I don’t think existing email addresses wil be transferred.

I’m already in the process of changing my BT email over to a free alternative.

BTMail users will keep their BT email with the move to EE. They will need to use their BT login for this. It won't be integrated with any New EE ID that they may set up for other products.
