Emails returned

Go to solution

On occasions, I receive back in my inbox, emails that I sent out days before. I don't understand why this happens. I have been in touch with BT but they have indicated it is in my email settings. I have had a look but can't see anything that relates to it. The odd thing is that it isn't all emails I send, just a few. Has anyone experienced this and knows what to do about it?

How are you using your email? Is it with a web browser or with an email client/app?

Is there a pattern to the returned email such as:

Is it always the same recipients?

Does it always happen when you send to those recipients?

Is the email that is being returned just to one recipient or is it being send to multiple recipients at the same time?

email client/app. Different recipients. Can send emails to recipient and not get them returned. It’s not sent to multi recipients, always individual emails.

Re: Emails returned

Do you get any message when it is returned?

As there appears to be no pattern to it that tend to rule out any setting that you control such as "rules" or cc ing your email address into the email.

Because it doesn't happen all the time I suspect it will be difficult to track the problem down.

I have notified the moderators of the forum about your problem. Once they have read this they may be able to help. They will advise you by posting on this thread.

No message, except it is sent to my email address. No other information.
