BT Email App is not working. Again!
It keeps stating that I need to turn on the Wi-Fi or Mobile network.
Both of these are on but still keep getting the same message.
all my other apps work just fine of course.
Obviously I already uninstalled app and reinstalled it more than 10 times, to no avail. I even waited a day without doing a thing and tried again. It’s been 4 days and STILL same idiotic pop up message…
doe s anyone know how to sort this???
Uninstall it and install Blue Mail
Hi @Rose27
Thanks for coming to the community and letting us know the steps you have tried to get the app working.
Are you able to try the app on another device to see if you get the same message?
Leanne.
Hello,
problem persists and is the same on 3 different devices: phone, iPad, laptop…
Thank you for any solution !
Are you presently a BT Broadband customer or are you paying for your email through a BT Premium email account?
If neither of the above your email account may have been downgraded to a BTMail Basic account which can not be used with an email client only with a web browser.
Can you log on and use your email with a web browser?

I’m a bit premium paying customer. I have been able to access my mails through website.
i just tried again and the website would not work but hooray the app finally worked!
woukd be good to have explanations as to why all this malarkey happened!
thank you
Hi there @Rose27
Thanks for coming back and letting us know this is now working for you 🙂
I am unaware as to why this message would show for you, but glad this is now sorted.
Come back to the community anytime 🙂
Leanne.
Hello,
In fact, though the BT mail app finally decided to work on my phone (iPhone), it will not work on my iPad, with the same unexplainable message that I’m not connected to wifi nor to mobile data (whereas I am and all other apps etc work fine of course).
May I add:as a paying BT Premium customer with a company as big and as experienced as BT I find this state of affairs totally unacceptable! It should not work “when it feels like it” but as a matter of course, reliably - it is NOT ok, not practical either to have to go through website when travelling outside the UK etc and always without any logical explanation!9
If you are using the BTMail app, which in my opinion is a poor email app, I would suggest that you delete it and either use Bluemail as previously suggested or your iPhone and iPad's preinstalled Apple Mail app and on your Laptop the Thunderbird email client.
If you do decide to do that make sure to restart your iPhone and iPad before setting them up and set them up manually and use the BTMail settings as per this link.
