"rules" seems to be giving me a problem. I was hacked and the hacker appears to have set a rule to block e-mails containing the word "fraud" (this was suggested by fraudalert). BUT - I can't see any rules and BT say I don't have any. When I enable rules and send myself an e-mail entitled "Fraud" I don't get it, if I then suspend rules and send it again, I do get it. Any idea what is happening?
From what you have described your rules are working. You set a rule and it blocks it. You turn off the rule and it allows it through.
Unless you gave fraudalert access to your email account how would they know what a hacker did or did not do with your rules.

I read something different in his post. He said he cannot see any rules, though when he switches them off, it behaves as expected. I'm guessing (though could be wrong) that for some reason the 'rule' has been hidden in some way not allowing him to edit it?
yes, rules seem to be working but the hacker set it and I can't see it to remove it. I also don't know if there are other rules I cannot see.
There may well be a problem with the rules but I don't see how the hacker can set one then hide it or how fraudalert can say that a hacker has set a rule on your email account without having had access to your account.
If you set a rule or remove a rule your email account should get a yellow banner telling you that a rule has been changed. Are you getting that banner when you enable or disable the rules?
EDIT: I should have said that the banner comes up every time you log onto the email account for a number of days if I remember correctly.
When I enable / disable there are no messages but when I sign in there is a pop-up that says something has been saved. It never happened before I was hacked but as this coincided with the new e-mail relaease I thought it was connected with that.
It has always been that way.
If you create another email account does it behave in the same way?
