This week all my sent emails go straight into the outbox.

For no apparent reason all my sent mails go straight to the outbox when using my iPad .Everything is ok when use my IPhone . How do I resolve this ?

Are the emails actually being sent or are they not being sent and just go to the Outbox when you try to send them?

No not being sent at all - just go straight to the outbox.

When you send on your iPhone, is that using 4/5g or using your wifi connection when at home?

If it works on your iPhone using 4/5g have you tried tethering your iPad to the phone and then try sending an email?

Have you tried restarting the iPad?

Don't do it at this stage but have you changed your password recently?

Have you checked the iPad's email settings to ensure they are correct as per this link.
