I changed my BT email password and now am unable to get my email on my Iphone 7 or on my Macbook pro.
On my Iphone I have tried deleting the account and reinstalling it but keeps coming up with the same message below:
"The IMAP server mail.btinternet.com doesnt support Password authentication. Please check your account settings and try again"
My macbook pro is saying the user name and password is not recognisable.
I can access my email on the BT site so that is working okay.
Make sure you are not selecting secure password authentication in the outgoing (SMTP) settings, authentication should be plain (or whatever it is called on an Apple device.
The correct email settings are as per this link. Set the account up manually rather than using the phone's set up wizard.
