Using OWL in Thunderbird - Send & Account name

Go to solution

I have set up an owl account to receive my email from Outlook webmail in Thunderbird so I can save all my emails locally on my disc. This is working except for one problem.

Sending mail from this account in Thunderbird, the email that is sent gives the name from my Outlook account which is not the name I want displayed to the recipient. Trying to edit the Outlook account name says can't do, ask IT Department or administrator. I am the IT Department and I can't see how to do it. It's not a setting in Thunderbird, it is the Outlook account. By ask administrator do they mean BT? If not, who, how?

Default Identity when using OWL in Thunderbird

Go to solution

I've set up an owl account in Thunderbird so I can read, send and store my BT emails locally. It is working. I set up, in the Thunderbird account settings, the default identity to be my btclick account, to be shown as sender, and this maps to btconnect when an email is sent. When receiving an email sent from this account the default identity btclick is not shown as it is supposed to be, the btconnect details are shown. Have I misunderstood something? What am I doing wrong? How do I get btclick to be shown to the recipient? (note: the btclick identity is like an alias for the btconnect identity).

If you are using a BT Connect email account I presume you are or have been a BT Business user as such you will need to post on the BT Business Forum in order to get assistance regarding BT Connect accounts..
