Anyone else had their email downgraded when moving to EE broadband

HI,

Just wondered if this has happened to anyone else - just called BT as I received a letter and email saying I needed to take action as my landline would not work shortly (due to being on a copper line and landline not compatible - which is fine I do not need my phone anymore.)

Apparently my bt email gets downgraded to basic which means I have to log in via a web browser or I could pay £7.50 per month for it to remian unchanged - I have changed to a mobile broadband (as full fibre not available in my area) and that is with EE so surely my email should remain as is and I shouldn't have to pay any extra

Does anyone else think that is incorrect as they are one company now and therefore as I am not technically leaving to anyoher different provider I should still have my email as it is today.

Any advice would be great as I am pretty sure previous correspndence said if I changed to EE broadband my email would remain as is

I will be taking this further as I do not believe this is right?

Re: Anyone else had their email downgraded when moving to EE broadband

Mobile EE broadband isn’t the same as EE fixed line broadband (copper pair or fibre)  only the fixed broadband maintains the client access to email and then you need BT to arrange the switch to EE and not do it without BT arranging it , so if you have given up fixed line broadband for mobile, it’s pretty irrelevant that EE are the mobile provider , it would be the same as if you joined Vodafone or O2 , if you were misled or misunderstood thinking EE mobile broadband was the same as EE fixed line broadband, that’s unfortunate but that’s the way it is .
